   Résumé
   Libérée de prison, Jean va pouvoir être présente aux côtés de son fils Liam pour fêter son seizième anniversaire. Celui-ci voudrait en profiter pour offrir une nouvelle vie à sa mère et multiplie les larcins pour obtenir de l'argent. Mais les ennuis ne tardent pas à s'amonceler lorsque ses méfaits le rapprochent d'un mafieux peu recommandable qui lui demande d'assassiner son meilleur ami. Ses relations avec Stan, dealer sans envergure et accessoirement compagnon de sa mère, ne sont pas non plus au beau fixe. Se tisse inexorablement une toile sociale où noirceur rime avec un pessimisme ambiant.
